The two popular versions of WordPress, WordPress.com – where you can host blog on the cloud resources of WordPress and the other WordPress.org which provides a stand alone installation to be hosted on various servers. The WordPress Theme and Plugin market is booming with wordpress itself hosting 1350+ themes and 1450+ plugins.

WordPress Jetpack is a Plugin which is a combination of must have plugins in the WordPress plugin directory.

WordPress Jetpack has:

1. WordPress.com Stats

2. Twitter Widget

3. WP.me Shortlinks

4. Gravatar Hovercards

7. Shortcode Embeds

8. LaTeX

These plugins are clubbed together as WordPress Jetpack, so if you already have your plugins in place there is no need for installing WordPress Jetpack. However, since these plugins use the cloud facilities of WordPress, it might help in taking the extra load from your server and speed up your blog. I wonder what impact does Jetpack have on blog bandwidth consumption?
Before you look for a solution you must be sure that you are not using Google chrome for WordPress . If you are then try using some other browser and log in to the site, because google chrome is known to have some issues with wordpress….more information read here..

You should also make sure that your server is on, many times your hosting server and database servers are different and a possible case of you not being able to log into your site can be because your database server is not responding.
However is none of the above holds true you can try out manually resetting your password directly from the backend . For this you need to log in to your Cpanel and check the appropriate database in which your wordpress files are installed. Then you can continue reading my previous article.[link below]

Well, that might seem a strange question to you but this happens when you register your WordPress admin account during the installation of Wordpress using a fake email id. Or you might have lost your email id’s password along with WordPress password. Well, the possibilities do exist. Let me tell you why I needed to reset my WordPress Admin password manually. When you setup WordPress on your laptop or mac by installing a server software such as Xampp or Wampp. When you install WordPress in the htdocs directory you are required to enter a valid email id, in this case no matter what email id you put it, WordPress engine cannot send a mail to your actual email id because you laptop is actually not a server.

You can also use this in case you lost your super admin password which I described in the previous post.
google_ad_client = "pub-7208148259344527"; /* Article inside 468x15, */ google_ad_slot = "0827027244"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15; // ]]>

Anyways, for whatever reason you might require to reset your password manually it is actually a few seconds process, so you might not even considering going to your mail box and then resetting your password. The trick here is pretty simple

WordPress uses AES_ENCRYPT function to encrypt and save your passwords in the prefix_users (wp_users) table in the database in which WordPress is installed. The trick is simple just go to the above table in the database and check your user id and username and reset the password field.

say

reset the password field to this $P$BPC.t7e/Hh2ccH55jlbbDbIw.AS3yP0

this is actually AES encryption of ripul ,so whenever you reset your password field with above code you can simply type in the password as ripul and login to your wordpress . In case you are finding it difficult to do, leave a comment below.
If you are running a blog which have multiple contributors,editors or authors, you would have definitely felt the need of having an administrator to your blog. Even if you would have given the person admin rights, you are always insecure of what if he/she changes your password, deletes your account, changes your theme, reset other people’s password. This insecurity however can be removed by tweaking the code.

This Post will show you how you can just sit and relax while other people manage your blog and no one can take the control of your blog from you ( unless you lose your password).

You have other plugin currently available like role player and role scoper but that requires continuous monitoring on each and every new user which registers to your blog and what rights you have to give or other admins can give them. With this method you would not require to monitor your blog. Other admins can give any authority to users can even make other admins to your site but the sole owner ship lies with you.

Let me just start by introducing:

What is a Super Admin ?

This is basically a concept taken out from Joomla, a super admin is a user who has more powers than other users including other administrator of the website. If you are the Super Admin you can hire people to administer your blog and you have total control of each and everyone of them.

How do you become the Super Administrator of your WordPress Blog?

You need to make few changes to theme and to the wp-admin folder in the WordPress installation. The changes in the Wp-admin are bound to be removed in the next WordPress update but since these are 1 or 2 line changes you would not find much trouble inserting these lines again. Why do you need to change wp-admin? this is only area which would be visible to you since you own the site and that will help you in getting the privilege you need.

Prerequisite: You should to be the admin of the site and have access to the server where your site is installed.

You just need to change 3 files to get the privilege of a Super Administrator of your WordPress blog:

1. Functions.php [..wp-content/themes/{yourtheme}/functions.php] : This will allow you to hide certain sections in your wordpress dashboard which are only visible to you. In this case I have given the privilege to the “admin” (marked in red) which is the name of the user change the name as per your requirement.

Add this code at the end of the file:

<?php

add_action(‘admin_head’, ‘hide_menus’);

Wordpress Most Notable fixes in beta 2:

Certain themes were calling get_categories() in such a way that it would fail in 2.8. 2.8.1 works around this so these themes won’t have to change.

Dashboard memory usage is reduced. Some people were running out of memory when loading the dashboard, resulting in an incomplete page.

The automatic upgrade no longer accidentally deletes files when cleaning up from a failed upgrade.

A problem where the rich text editor wasn’t being loaded due to compression issues has been worked around.

Extra security has been put in place to better protect you from plugins that do not do explicit permission checks.

Translation of role names fixed

wp_page_menu() defaults to sorting by the user specified menu order rather than the page title

Upload error messages are now correctly reported

Autosave error experienced by some IE users is fixed

Styling glitch in the plugin editor fixed

SSH2 filesystem requirements updated

Switched back to curl as the default transport

Updated the translation library to avoid a problem with mbstring.func_overload
