Official Twitter Status on Koobface

“Some users’ PCs have been infected with a variant of the Koobface malware. This malware sends bogus tweets when the user logs into Twitter.We are currently suspending all accounts that we detect sending such bogus tweets. If we suspend your account, we will send you an email notifying you of the suspension. This email also includes tips for removing the malware from your PC.”

“This is apparently the second attack given by Koobface in Twitter, the first one used only three different TinyURLs with infected users; this malware mutation gave the infection a longer life than the previous one, that also appeared on Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Hi5, Friendster and LiveJournal.” [Source:Crenk]

Koobface is a worm and has a long history of infecting various social networking sites including myspace,hi5,bebo,friendster and facebook.

Twitter has now started showing paid ads on user’s home pages, these ads can range from language to zone specific.The ads have a heading and a short description and they can be identified by “Sponsored definition” written below them just as Google Ads.The new, paid ads have been placed in the same place as the previous, non-paid ads.

Youtube is also releasing channels for the News ,entertainment or sports . YouTube is seeing an increase in mobile uploads of videos. In the past six months, mobile uploads have increased by 1700%. Since just last Friday, the day of the iPhone 3G S release – the first iPhone with video, mobile uploads have increased by a whopping 400%.

The channels seem more like profile’s of a social networking site. Video’s are definitely the next thing on the internet as the growing popularity suggets and it seems like YouTube might just be on the right track.

Microsoft rejects the claims, saying “Bing Travel is based on independent development… any contrary allegations are without merit”.

Douglassims who first found this out displays this comparison and states “Perhaps Microsoft didn’t just copy Kayak. After all, if the task of finding flights is reduced to its simplest form then there’s not too much room for diversity of solutions. But I would like to understand better the legal limitations on look-alike and work-alike designs. If it’s okay, then why should I not just create an auction site exactly like eBay, except in plaid instead of yellow and white, or something like Amazon.com only named after a different river? Would that be okay?”

But Do domain names matter that much?

In February 09,Toys.com was sold for $5.1 million in auction. And a few weeks ago,Candy.com sold for $3 million.And recently Yahoo sold its domain name Contests.com for a mere $380,000.

Domain Buying and selling  is becoming a hot industry these days with almost no bar on the size of the company of the domain holder it can turn out to be a fortune for ordinary people to businesses.But the bottom line is do these domain names really need so much investment?
