For the energy conscious folks there is a good news , not only would the epaper save the regular paper costs and save the trees but it  only consumes power when the image changes.

How ever no information is released on its launch date , speculations are that the product would be launched somewhere in the first half of 2010.

The phone is pretty sleek and the most astonishing feature is 21:9 Cinema Screen, has a 4inches Full touch screen with Tempered Glass which is Scratch Proof,Active Flash User Interface,Full Internet Support HSDPA 7.2/Wifi,a-gps, a 5mp camera with flash, and has the multitouch capability zoom in and zoom out just like the iPhone.

This has been one of the Apple iPhone’s strengths and few days before Nokia launched OVI(Symbian) App store and now its LG. LG electronics which is world’s number 3 in handset making would be launching its App store which focusses on Asia-Pacific (countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Australia) and by the end of the year it would be avilable throughout the world. Though plans to enter America were not stated where Apple’s iPhone and Blackberry have a strong hold.

LG stated that it would provide 1400 (2000 by the end of the year) applications in which 100 would be free apps,  and would be available in 15 languages .

Interestingly iPhone is costly in Asia and  the Apps are not available in many asian countries app store.The other advantage which might help LG would be the language support and its huge customer support. This might be LG’s strategy to launch its App store in Asia which might just give LG the much needed boost in the industry.

The latest technology about to come in Monitors is Virtual Desktop. The Electronics gaint LG recently in a joint venture with NComputing Inc is going to introduce “Virtualisation” in desktop monitors.Virtualization refers to technology that allows one computer to perform the work of many machines. The computing solution provided by NComputing will further drive the acceleration towards desktop virtualization and ‘cloud computing’ in which computing is centralised and done over the Web.The new LG SmartVine N-series monitors with NComputing’s virtualization solutions will enable up to 11 people to share a single PC.

The LG product would incorporate Keyboard,mouse,audio and USB sockets and would be connected to a centralised CPU.An NComputing X550 PCI Card Kit with vSpace software enables the host PC to connect to five additional monitors.The software by NComputing would be installed as a service(SaaS) on the CPU thereby enabling many persons to work on the same computer.
LG belives that this move would not only enable corporations to cut down on their ITcosts but this technology can also lower their computer hardware costs by 60 per cent, maintenance costs by 70 per cent and electricity costs by 90 percent .
The NComputing-LG partnership will significantly cut the high cost of computing for businesses, schools and government,” said Stephen Dukker, chairman and CEO, NComputing. “We are delighted to work with one of the largest and most respected electronics companies in the world to bring our computing solutions to everyone.”
