How about an shopping through your mobile phone? With the release of Amazon App for the Androids, this has now become a reality.

“The Amazon App for Android utilizes the Amazon Remembers technology, which essentially lets users search for things they want to purchase by taking pictures of them. Snap an item you’re looking to buy and Amazon will search its store and the inventory of some 9,000 other online merchants to find it or something like it. Or if you have a specific make and model in mind, use the phone’s camera to scan its barcode, and Amazon will search for it that way. And if you do find what you’re looking for, the app uses the same secure online purchase system as Amazon’s web site.”

With the launch of this App, Android phone users can now do a comparison shop on Amazon.

Security Hole in Mobile Phones (iPhone,Android,Microsoft)fixed!

Apple has recently fixed an iPhone security hole which allowed hackers to take control over your iPhone ,read your contacts,calenders.
“Although there is no formal announcement by the company, an update for the iPhone has appeared on users’ computers. The phone can only be protected from the weakness by synchronising it with the owner’s computer; unlike other phones, Apple is not allowing network operators to update the phones “over the air”. However as the update is 230MB in size, that may be seen by owners – and network operators – as a blessing.”

The security hole relates with text messaging as a hacker can run a malicious code from text messaging as the phone has to process the data that comes with them.
A similar flaw was found in Google’s Android oeprating system for mobile phones, but the company says that it has now been fixed through action by the carriers.Microsoft said that it is working on an update for its Windows Mobile operating system – now renamed Windows Phone – and that it will distribute it once it is ready.

Android the Mobile operating system launched by Google is now available on your PC. There wass a sense of inquisitiveness among many users which were deprived of Android because their mobiles lacked Android support .Now they can download Android on their machines and get the lok and feel of Android OS.

Andoid Emulator was however available in the Android SDK released earlier but the release of LIVE ANDROID IMAGE would defininitely be what many had in their minds, you get to try all the features of Android.This would increase the popularity of Android among users and many bloggers claim that Google Chrome OS might just be a better or upgraded version of the Android OS [ Which suports the idea of releasing a PC friendly version of Android].

Android Emulator can be downloaded now and can be run by making a bootable CD. After rebooting you just need to select Android operating system in the OS choice menu by pressing alt+f1 or alt+f7.

Android has already gained much praise and different versions of Android have gained huge popularity among users and even those who are not using it.

We have seen a lot of Android based phones in the past weeks and every version has its own unique and amazing feature associated with it, whether it is amazing user interface(Sense UI),augmented reality browser or flash enabled internet browsers.The latest in this list is the Rachel UI.

Rachel UI is the latest Google Android version evolved.Sony Ericson’s latest release Rachel would be incorporating this user interface and once you watch the video below you will get to know the elegance of this UI. Samsung Joins Android : Galaxy i7500 Review!

Samsung has migrated from Symbian to Android operating system for Mobile phones and would soon be launched Galaxy i7500 which would have Android installed in it.Galaxy i7500‘ will soon make its way to Bouygues Telecom, France’s third largest mobile carrier starting next week, on July 16. The handset will be sold for as low as €99 ($139) with a 2-year contract agreement.It has a 320×480 resolution on a 3.2 inche AMOLED screen.Galaxy i7500 boasts of a 5 Mega Pixel camera along with internal storage of 8 GB and supports Wifi,3G,GPS,7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity.However its screen is not multi-browser and can not read Flash.

There are some variations in the pricing however as Germany offers the Samsung i7500 Galaxy for €96.99 on contract which is approximately $98 and UK consumers can expect same price.

Google Releases Android NDK 1.5 – Download

A good news for mobile or MID’s ( Mobile internet Devices) Application developers . Finally Google has launched the much awaited NDK[Native Development Kit] which now can be used by many programmer’s.

What is the NDK?
The Android Native Development Kit is a suite of tools and documentation that enable developers to create native code executables and shared libraries. In its first release it is targeted towards Java application developers who wish to write native code shared libraries to access native code APIs or accelerate portions of their application.

We hope to make the first version of the NDK available in 1H2009. At first only a small subset of the full set of Linux and Android APIs will be supported, but in later releases additional APIs will be supported.

* The initial goal is to support JNI shared libraries written in C or C++ that link with the Android versions of libc and libm.
* In a future release we hope to support linking with OpenGL ES and audio libraries, which should enable high-performance games.
* The NDK can also be used to compile Linux executables and shared libraries that only require the subset of Linux APIs that are supported by the NDK. This might be useful for developers wishing to port utility programs to help develop and test their Android applications.

However the new Android 1.5 NDK doesn’t actually allow mobile developers to run completely native code on MIDs. Instead, it supports adding native code into applications written to run in Dalvik virtual machine (DVM) instances.

Android 1.5 NDK aims to attract more mobile apps developers to the platform in a similar way as the iPhone has done.
