Apple has indeed started a revolution , the revolution of Touch. Now Dell joins the competition ,according to Reuters Dell Inc, the worlds No.2 PC maker, is developing a pocket-sized device for tapping into the Internet.
This is not the first time Dell has joined this race ,a few years before Dell has dumped DJ Ditty music player line [...read more ] and the Axim PDAs[...read more ], this time its an iPod Touch-style mobile Internet device (MID).
Though as per The Wall Street Journal Dell’s product would be slightly bigger than Apple iPod touch, it would not have any cell phone like features and would be a non-multimedia oriented pocket-able MID.
Looking at the fierce competition in this market some of the major players like Apple with iPod and Microsoft with Zune who have a strong mutimedia support and internet browsing capabilities, Dell mightbe in for a tough fight.
The gadget would run on Google Inc’s Android software and with Google Releasing the Android NDK for Android App development ,Dell might be releasing the gadget at the right time and get benefit from the events.Dell might release this gadget later in this year.
