This Animation by Anthony Calzadilla, is really amazing and has used jquery built in delay fiunctions to switch between the different CSS frames.  HTML +CSS3 is a decent combination but considering the kind of animation which can be done using flash is no match for it. But a lot of unnecessary things are being done on flash which is not at all required as that can be done on simple html and css.

Do we need a separate swf player when all that can be done using HTML and CSS?

You should also make sure that your server is on, many times your hosting server and database servers are different and a possible case of you not being able to log into your site can be because your database server is not responding.


However is none of the above holds true you can try out manually resetting your password directly from the backend . Well, a very clichéd topic “Joomla or WordPress “, but lets face it every web designer faces this issue. The image on right is just for your reference for popularity what Alexa says about these sites but I really don’t think that should impact your selection of CMS.

Well, as everyone says that this depends on the usability of your site. Joomla has a bit wider scope than WordPress, but this gap has been reducing slowly. Now,  WordPress and Joomla both have a huge following community. With WordPress plugins  now you can create forums,support center, online chat,multiple users blog and online social community such as face book or even you can replicate WordPress.com . That is a lot of functionality which earlier was thought can only be made in Joomla or Drupal and now it also comes in WordPress.

WordPress is perhaps the most user friendly system I have ever seen. Though Joomla too has a user friendly system but nothing can match that of WordPress. But here lies the catch. With wordpress you can implement almost anything you want ,having lesser complex code, one can modify the core wordpress files and even add tables as per needs.

But the problem with WordPress is that  you get plugins for almost everything and you start installing those plugins and then they become very bulky and it becomes harder to manage them. Joomla would present you with some inbuilt components for which you have to install several plugins. Also there are some functionality like super administrator which are missing in WordPress.

So it really depends on your need which one to choose.

Why would you need to reset your WordPress password manually

Well, that might seem a strange question to you but this happens when you register your WordPress admin account during the installation of  WordPress using a fake email id. Or you might have lost your email id’s password along with WordPress password. Well, the possibilities do exist. Let me tell you why I needed to reset my WordPress Admin password manually. When you setup WordPress on your laptop or mac by installing a server software such as Xampp or Wampp. When you install WordPress in the htdocs directory you are required to enter a valid email id, in this case no matter what email id you put it, WordPress engine cannot send a mail to your actual email id because you laptop is actually not a server.

You can also use this in case you lost your super admin password which I described in the previous post.

Anyways, for whatever reason you might require to reset your password manually it is actually a few seconds process, so you might not even considering going to your mail box and then resetting your password. The trick here is pretty simple

WordPress uses AES_ENCRYPT function to encrypt and save your passwords in the prefix_users (wp_users) table in the database in which WordPress is installed. The trick is simple just go to the above table in the database and check your user id and username and reset the password field.

This is basically a concept taken out from Joomla, a super admin is a user who has more powers than other users including other administrator of the website. If you are the Super Admin you can hire people to administer your blog and you have total control of each and everyone of them.


How do you become the Super Administrator of your WordPress Blog?

You need to make few changes to theme and to the wp-admin folder in the WordPress installation. The changes in the Wp-admin are bound to be removed in the next WordPress update but since these are 1 or 2 line changes you would not find much trouble inserting these lines again. Why do you need to change wp-admin? this is only area which would be visible to you since you own the site and that will help you in getting  the privilege you need.

Prerequisite: You should to be the admin of the site and have access to the server where your site is installed.

You just need to change 3 files to get the privilege of a Super Administrator of your WordPress blog:

1. Functions.php [..wp-content/themes/{yourtheme}/functions.php] : This will allow you to hide certain sections in your wordpress dashboard which are only visible to you. In this case I have given the privilege to the “admin” (marked in red) which is the name of the user change the name as per your requirement.
