Fastest browser : Mozilla,Chrome,IE8 or Opera?

Which is the fastest browser ? is it Mozilla? is it Chrome? is it IE8? or is it Opera?

Watch this video below, here all four browsers are running simultaneously on a PC with hardware acceleration turned on. However all browsers except Google Chrome , support Hardware acceleration .

This video by download squad shows a neat comparison among all the above browsers ( however there was a disadvantage for Chrome which is my favorite browser).

The result was a bit surprising where both Firefox and IE8 being the fastest.

Iphone SMS vulnerability pack released.

Apple today released its the very first update to the iPhone 3.0 software to address an SMS vulnerability that threatened the security of the iphone.

This is what apple said :”We appreciate the information provided to us about SMS vulnerabilities which affect several mobile phone platforms. This morning, less than 24 hours after a demonstration of this exploit, we’ve issued a free software update that eliminates the vulnerability from the iPhone.

Contrary to what’s been reported, no one has been able to take control of the iPhone to gain access to personal information using this exploit.”

So what are you waiting for, plug in your iphones and update it…!

Android the Mobile operating system launched by Google is now available on your PC. There wass a sense of inquisitiveness among many users which were deprived of Android because their mobiles lacked Android support .Now they can download Android on their machines and get the lok and feel of Android OS.

Andoid Emulator was however available in the Android SDK released earlier but the release of LIVE ANDROID IMAGE would defininitely be what many had in their minds, you get to try all the features of Android.This would increase the popularity of Android among users and many bloggers claim that Google Chrome OS might just be a better or upgraded version of the Android OS [ Which suports the idea of releasing a PC friendly version of Android].

Android Emulator can be downloaded now and can be run by making a bootable CD. After rebooting you just need to select Android operating system in the OS choice menu by pressing alt+f1 or alt+f7.

Android has already gained much praise and different versions of Android have gained huge popularity among users and even those who are not using it.

Google wants to drive more Internet usage via Chrome OS

The news about Google OS is all around and in recent announcement of Google’s quarterly earnings 9which did prove that Google determined to move forward and progress ) Google CEO Eric Schmidt did state that Google Chrome OS would not be profitable venture for Google.

“Because it’s open source, we do not plan to charge for it, in an open source form. There may be other ways we can make money from it. The core operating system, if you look at the blog post, we said it was an open source project and it should be available for anyone else to use. We do this with a lot of products. For example our Android product… There are many other pieces of technology that Google builds [that we don't charge for].

The rough argument is we do things that are strategic because they get people to ultimately use the Internet in a clever and new way. We know that if they use the Internet more, they search more, watch more on YouTube, and we then know that our advertising [will reach them]. We do not require each and every project to be completely profitable or not profitable — we look at them in a strategic context: are they making the Web a better place?”

By making the web a better place, by getting more and more people online — especially on broadband connections — we have lot of data that says this results in very, very strong revenue growth from us because of targeted ads that we offer.“[Google CEO Eric Schmidt]

This definitely sounds to be a strategy as if Google is able to make a stronger hold in the OS market the internet usage might be increased and since internet is where Google believe its domain is, they would bring people to their domain.

While I strongly believe that Google Chrome OS would be a marked step in changing the architecture of the Internet [ as they stated for Google Wave] but this time not only software Google’s tie up with hardware manufacturer’s would enable Google to implement a replacement for the 20 year old internet architecture.And since that architecture would differ from traditional one it would be tougher for viruses and other malwares to break in the OS.

At the end we can say that users would be provided with a faster ,speedier and secure internet on Google Chrome OS which would then be a suitable platform for cloud computing.

Its out now, the latest entry , the SDK to pre . Mojo SDK is now released for WebOs and you can download it . The Mojo SDK now stands in conpetition with the iPhone Apple OS 3.1 SDK which was released in late June.While you may have read the previous article on How Palm Pre is the Cheapest resource in using where an Apple iPhone costs nearly as 1.5 times than using palm pre over a duration of 2 years.

While the competition seemed one sided as iPhone 3GS was a clear winner ,now with the release of SDK we can expect some fightback. The Apple iPhone’s major strength has always been its strong App store while all other envy , most of them have only made a start and are way lagging behind Apple’s App store.

Development in Mojo SDK seems simpler and comprehendable (Atleast initially though havent tried much), the site also given some preliminary examples as Hello world! which might be of interest to [Probable]developers who are not so professional in their approach. Palm might just be able to develop its own market if the SDK really proves out to be easier/comprehend able to program.
